Shirley Corene Boatman

Shirley Corene Dierker was born February 26, 1929 in Portage Wisconsin to Reverend Edwin John Dierker & Florence Jostman Dierker. She is preceded in death by her parent Edwin & Florence, her brothers Lee & Bill Dierker, her sisters Ruth Schwartzwalder & Ebbie (Evelyn) Frizzi. She graduated from Huntington Park High School in 1946. She then attended Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in St Louis, Missouri and graduated in 1950. She then moved to Houston and worked at Texas Children’s Hospital. While working there she meet Shannon M. Boatman. They were married on November 26, 1953 at St. Mathews Lutheran Church here in Houston. They were married just shy of 63 years. During here time on earth Shirley spent much of her time volunteering with numerous organizations at Trinity Lutheran church which was her home.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Shannon M. Boatman, Son Shane D. Boatman, Son Shawn D. Boatman, Daughter in laws Amy & Brenda Boatman, Grandson & Wife Shane B and Courtney R Boatman, Granddaughters Brittany M, Samantha O, Jordan T Boatman, Great grandson Shane Barrett Boatman, her Brother Gene and wife Maryanne Dierker, sister in law Barbara Dierker, brother in-law Louis Frizzi, brother and sister in law Ronnie & Margie Boatman, nieces and nephews and countless close friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Pat H. Foley & Company, 1200 W. 34th Street, Houston, Texas 77018. The Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Downtown on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 10:30AM. Immediately following will be a reception and the processional will depart at 12:30 for burial @ Trinity Cemetery @ 500 Sawyer Street.
