

Shirley Jean Gibson, 86, of Magnolia, Texas, passed into eternal rest on February 18, 2024. A native of Iowa, she was born to the late William 'Elmer' and Frances Moore Lotspeich on November 17, 1937, in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Shirley graduated from Somer High School and moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she met her husband, Jack. They were married in Omaha on July 26, 1956. For the next 17 years, Shirley was a military wife and they moved multiple times while raising their five children. After Jack’s retirement from the Air Force, they moved to Satellite Beach, Florida and later relocated to Houston, Texas.
Shirley enjoyed square dancing, painting, sewing, reading, and camping. When her daughters were young, she loved to sew them matching outfits. She will be also remembered for her Walmart runs on Saturday morning during every camp out with her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren will always remember her holiday cookie assortment she gave out every year.
She is survived by her five children: Colleen and husband Wayne Kehr, Kimberley and husband David Lamb, Jack Jr. and wife Debbie Gibson, Nancy and husband Bob Springfield, and Robert Gibson and partner Carrie Thornton.
She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Shaun and wife Stephanie Fekany, Jason Kehr, Brian Lamb, Derek Springfield and partner Jillian Temple, Megan and husband Bryant Kutac, Kelly Kehr and partner Jeff Maier, Jeffrey and wife Chasity Springfield and Amanda Gibson.
She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren: Peyton, Andrew, Kaylee, James, Leah, Ella, Ivy, and Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Albert Gibson Sr.
The family will gather in a private ceremony to reflect upon Shirley's enduring influence on their lives. Her gentle presence will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will remain with all who were blessed to know her.
