

In loving memory of Sofia Edith Martinez, who at 53, peacefully departed this world on November 5, 2023, at Sharpview Residential in Houston, Texas. She was born and rooted in Houston, she graced South Houston with her presence for the majority of her remarkable life.
Her unwavering commitment to pharmacy sparked a lifelong journey of learning, culminating in her achievement as a Pharmacy Technician from San Jacinto College. Her commitment was a testament to her enduring quest for self-improvement.
Her essence, characterized by a gentle, compassionate spirit, endeared her to an extensive circle of friends and family. Sofia found joy in the simple pleasures, from the culinary arts she passionately embraced to treasured moments with loved ones. Her adventurous soul led her to explore the depths of Mexico, embracing new experiences and cultures. Above all, her heart found its greatest fulfillment in aiding and caring for those in need especially kids, whether they were family, friends, or strangers.
Sofia is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Precious Efosa Uhunamure, with whom she has known for over twelve years then shared six beautiful years with. Her legacy extends to her mother, Ernestina Martinez, father Mario Rodriguez Martinez, and her siblings, Cristina Carson and husband Cliff Carson of Houston, Claudia Bellard and husband Elroy "Roy" Bellard of Hitchcock, Mario Martinez and wife Sarah Martinez of San Antonio, and Erik Martinez of Pasadena. Her loving influence also lives on in her six nieces and five nephews, blessed by her love and guidance.
A celebration of Sofia's life Viewing/Visitation will start on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 2p.m to 8 p.m. at Crespo Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at10 a.m. at Crespo Funeral Home in Houston, Texas, officiated by Priest Deacon Heath Hampton. Burial will directly take place at 12p.m after service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Houston, Texas. As we honor Sofia's memory, let us carry forward her legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness in our own lives.
