Mrs. Baker, Selena, and all the many family members, and friends of Mr. Baker: 

I am so happy that through my friendship and working relationship with Selena at the Houston ISD, Nutrition Services Department, I had the privilege to meet Mr. Baker a few years ago. 
I first met Mr. Baker during “Grandparent’s Day” at Atherton Elementary School, when I went to help Selena and her staff, serve lunch to the visiting Grandparents, who came to eat lunch with their Grandchildren;  which also happened to be where Selena’s children attended school. Mr. Baker proudly attended the annual “Grandparents Day” event and was happy to enjoy the time he shared with his precious Grandchildren that day. 
When I think about meeting  Mr. Baker for the first time, I can’t help but think about his smile. Mr. Baker’s smile was infectious! When you saw him smile, you couldn’t help but just gone on and smile with him! In fact, you may not even know what he was smiling about, it just seemed like he just had to smile, and just seemed happy! 
Mr. Baker demonstrated  an unparalleled-level of positive-energy that made a lasting-impression on me that I’ll never forget. In the short amount of time that I knew him, I was quickly reminded of what dignity actually is. A man with a true value of dignity is rare, but he defined the meaning of dignity so well and it was incredibly refreshing. 
I am so thankful for having the opportunity to meet such a wonderful man and while it goes without saying, that his absence on earth leaves a void that can be filled by no other; his legacy, his smile, his energy, his dignity, and the love he had for his family, will forever live on. 
My deepest and most sympathetic condolences to Mrs Baker, Selena, and to all of Mr. Baker’s many family members and friends.

While at PVAMU he served as Student Council President, President of the BOI Social Club, and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Sullivan received his BS degree from PVAMU in January, 1968; Norman Peale once said, “There is a real magic in enthusiasm. It spells the difference between mediocrity & accomplishment.”  And I’ll always remember Sullivan Baker, the college student, for his considerable enthusiasm & zest to accomplish a meaningful & extraordinary life. There are no words that can comfort the void of a dad. I am always here if you need and it'll be a special place in my heart because I'm expecting my second born near his Birthday and the same birthday month as Sarena and Sabrina. You got so awesome angels guiding and watching over you along with my dad who raised me whose Birthday was also in September.  There's some pretty awesome people born in September and I'm glad I was able to know him. Bless you family.
