Sun Ok Lucas

Sun Ok Lucas, 64, Houston Texas, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on December 31, 2022 at the family home in Houston surrounded by her loving family. Sun or Stacy as many of her friends knew her, is survived by her husband, James David, 2 children - Megan Haben (age 22) and Jonathan David (age 15), a sister - Soon Ja Kim and a multitude of additional relatives.

Sun was born on September 14, 1958 in Iksan-Kun, Chonpuk-Do, South Korea, the younger of two children born to Ki Soon Kim and Man Soo Kim. Sun moved to the United States in 1978 to work with her sister Soon Ja in Zanesville, OH and moved to Houston in 1986 shortly after meeting James while he was working in Zanesville with Texas Eastern Pipeline Company. Sun then attended cosmetology school in Houston before purchasing her own salon in 1992. The Houston Hair Pro’s was Sun’s “home away from home” for both being a successful hair stylist but even more successful in meeting a host of clients who would become lifelong friends. Sun retired in 2012 to focus her energies on her family.

A Celebration of Sun’s Life will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., including a reception with light dinner on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Earthman Funeral Home, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024.
