I am shocked and so sorry to hear of the untimely death of Susan. She gave me my first job in the CRC at Texas Children’s hospital when I first arrived in the States from Scotland. Then again, she took me on as her research assistant when she went to BCM to work for Brendan Lee. We laughed so much together. She was a joy to know and over all the years I knew her she was dedicated to the patients in her care and a nurse of outstanding ability.
With love to her daughter Emma, who she was so proud of,  her family  and her many friends and acquaintances.

Your mom was always talking about you at work and was so proud of your accomplishments.  She was such a kind  and thoughtful person.  So sorry for your loss and sending our deepest condolences.    

Susan was an intelligent, honorable and compassionate person, and it is so painful to learn of her passing.   I did not work with her directly, however, her kindness and respect for others was obvious and made our short conversations a joy. We have just learned of Susan's passing and her work family at the Baylor College of Medicine are deeply saddened by her loss.  Susan worked for many years with us and was an exceptional nurse as well as our friend.  We are devastated that we were unable to honor her at her funeral and to offer our condolences to her beloved Emma.  We honor her memory now and deeply mourn the loss of our dear friend, Susan Carter. May she rest in peace and God bless her soul.

So glad we were able to get together a few years back in North Carolina.  We have many fond memories of you and Emma from our time together.
