Tashera was born in Nacogdoches, TX on August 11, 1983 to Karen Ballard and Charles Watts. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 2000, and later earned her Associate of Arts in 2021 from
Lone Star College, Bachelor of Business in 2023 from the University of Houston and Master of Business Administration in 2024 from Lamar University.
At the time of her passing, Tashera was employed by Progressive Insurance and an attendee of Fallbrook Church in Houston, Texas and Iron Wheel Missionary Baptist Church in Nacogdoches.
Tashera met the greatest love of their life, Brian Burnett in the summer of 2008 at a family friend’s birthday party. A set up orchestrated by both her sister and her husband’s close friends. At the time, they both
had a child of their own who meant the world to them. Tashera had Frederick Roberts, who was 3 at the time, and Brian had Brianecia Burnett, who was 4 at the time. Eager to start their new lives together, the two were married a year after meeting on September 12, 2009 and became a family of four.
Though she loved traveling, photography, and learning, Tashera’s most memorable role was being the heart of the family. She treasured time with her family and friends, and loved bringing people together,
never failing to make us laugh, and never failing to stand up for what she believed was right. Tashera will always be remembered for her love of education, Mickey Mouse, the Lakers, and the color purple. She’d
want us to emphasize that we mean the actual color, not the movie. We couldn’t have asked for a better Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend, and will miss her every day. Tashera’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Tashera was preceded in death by her grandparents Ray & Edna Hartsfield and Leo & Curlie Colston and is survived by her husband Brian Burnett, her son Fredrick Roberts, her daughter Brianecia Burnett, her parents Karen & Willie Ballard and Charles & Mona Watts, her siblings Shakeithia & Glenford Allahar, Dekethion & Marry Ballard, Nickalus Watts, Taylor & Trevor Mayo, Kemora Watts and Marcell Ballard. Her
Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends and classmates will
continue to cherish her memory.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088.
