

Teresa Cuellar Silva, 96 years old from Houston, Texas, was called home by our Lord on February 1st, 2025. Teresa was born in Robstown, Texas on October 15, 1928. She was born to Manuela Escalante Cuellar and Panfilo Cuellar. She attended San Diego High School. She married Joe Lozano Silva from Corpus Christi, Texas on December 28, 1952. They raised 5 children Doris, Jerry, Joe Jr., Josephine, and Michael. They moved to Houston in the mid 1960’s. Teresa worked for many years at American General Furniture Leasing Company as an accountant while she made a home for their family. She retired and spent most of her time with her family and enjoying life. Teresa was known as the tough Grandma of the neighborhood. All the kids knew Mrs. Silva. She always opened her home to anyone that needed a place to stay. Making friends came easy to her. She could talk about anything and made everyone feel right at home. Teresa loved all kinds of music. Elvis was her favorite music singer. She loved watching sports and telenovelas on TV. She was the Astros #1 fan. She was married for 63 years. Teresa is reunited with her loving husband Joe Lozano Silva, mother Manuela Cuellar and father Panfilo Cuellar, daughter Doris Torres and (late Eddie Torres), sister Estefania Esparza and (late Reynaldo Esparza), brother Robert Cuellar (late Margie Cuellar), sister Rosa Rosales (late Julian Rosales, Sr.)
She is survived by her son Jerry Silva (Yolanda Silva), son Joe Silva Jr., (Delores Silva), daughter Josephine Ruiz (David Ruiz), and son Michael Silva, 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Teresa and her husband Joe Silva loved the Peanuts Comic strip characters. Snoopy was their favorite. In honor of Teresa the family will be wearing Snoopy shirts in their memory.
Funeral visitation will begin at 10:45 am on February 12, 2025, at American Heritage Funeral Home. Holy Rosary will be recited with Funeral service at 11:45 am. Committal Service 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Houston National Cemetery. Reception at American Heritage Funeral Home from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm to celebrate the life of Teresa Silva.
