She was born on August 4, 1941, in Saigon, Vietnam. A singularly remarkable woman, she protected her children and fled Vietnam during the war in 1975; by the grace of God, she reunited with her husband at a U.S. base in Guam, where they stayed until the end of "Operation New Life" to translate for the Red Cross to help resettle other refugees.
Her unwavering strength helped her and her family thrive as they forged new lives in Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Virginia, and finally Texas. She worked as an assistant accountant for PSO and Sallie Mae for 20+ years. Blessed were you when you got to sit and eat one of her meals. Her joy of cooking and warmth around the dinner table were delightfully passed down to her children and grandchildren. She loved to sing and was a most-welcome companion on shopping trips. Her generosity and love of beauty shined for anyone who met her.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, John Vĩnh Ngô; her seven children and their respective spouses; three of her four siblings; her six grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. We will miss her laughter and her singing.
