Theodore Sanchez

He was born on February 22, 1944 to his parents Bruno and Guadalupe Sanchez. He was the eldest of 11 children. Upon dropping out of school in the 10th grade, he met his wife and life long partner of 60 years and married on March 11, 1963.

Theodore was a wonderful husband, father, and provider who took great pride in working as a truck driver for Quality Banana for 41 years, ending his career as a supervisor after a major stroke on November 1, 2001. He had a passion for baseball, bowling, and playing dominos, but most of all, for being a great father and grandfather to his 5 children, 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Theodore was preceded in death by his father, Bruno Sanchez Sr.; mother, Guadalupe Sanchez; brothers, Pedro Sanchez, Reynaldo Sanchez, and Arthur Sanchez; sister, Mary Christina Pair; and son-in-law, Jimmy Diaz.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Sanchez; daughters, Olga Diaz (Ramiro Diaz), Mary Garza (Donato Garza), Estelle Diaz, and Monica Martinez (J.D. Cisneros); son, Theodore Sanchez Jr.; siblings, Joseph Sanchez Sr. (Adriana Sanchez), Bruno Sanchez Jr., Lucy Ramirez (Pedro Ramirez), Caroline Escalante (Fred Escalante), Carmen Vasquez, and Ruben Sanchez; sister-in-law, Rosemary Sanchez; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly.

Serving as pallbearers are Ramiro Diaz Jr., Angel Ray Diaz, Ray Anthony Martinez Jr., Reynaldo Garcia Jr., Steve Martinez Jr. and Theodore Sanchez Jr.

A visitation for Theodore will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary to occur at 7:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A graveside service Immediately to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
