(PAPA)
1939-2016
Tom was born September 5, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio to Robert and Doris Halloran (Fuller). He passed into the healing arms of Christ in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 18, 2016 in Conroe, Texas after a brief cancer reoccurrence.
Tom was baptized in the Catholic faith October 1, 1939 and received First Holy Communion on May 25, 1947. He graduated Euclid High School in 1957 and attended Ohio State University and the University of Houston. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Tom spent his entire career in industrial sales. This career led him from his beloved Ohio to Houston, Texas in January, 1977. Tom was very involved in the Catholic Church, Wounded Warriors, Beginning Experiences and The Mankind Project. He enjoyed watching any sporting event both live and on T.V. However, his lifelong passion was golf. Golf had the ability to bring out both the best and worst of his personality. There are many stories and testimonies out there in regards to Papa and golf.
In addition to his golf passion; his most prized love was for his grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed attending as many baseball games, drill team performances, volleyball games and theatre performance as he could. He viewed is role as “Papa” not only the most important and fulfilling in his life; but certainly his proudest.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Doris Halloran, his beloved Aunt Catherine Doran, his brother James Halloran and his youngest child and only son, Michael Robert Halloran.
Tom is survived by his daughters, Kathleen (Mike) Melnikoff of Spring, TX and Susan (Marc) Reiter of Houston, TX. He is also survived by daughter in law, Victoria Halloran also of Houston, TX. You were never created to live depressed – you were created to be victorious.
May you be healed, whole and at peace in arms of our Lord and Savior.
