Thomas (aka “Tom”) Wayne Humphries, Sr., age 84 passed into eternal rest on November 3, 2020. He was born September 21, 1936 to parents William and Gracie Humphries. After graduation from high school, Tom joined the Air Force and was with the 301st Air Refueling Squad for the next four years. He continued his service to our country by serving in the Air Force Reserves for another five years. Tom was an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA from 1959 until his retirement 31 years later. After retirement, he worked for several years at Inwood Pawn—loving his work with everyone there. He was an active member of the American Legion and his name has been perpetuated in the Cade – Rothwell Lodge No. 1151 in Houston.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, widow Gay Humphries, children’s mother Martha Humphries, siblings: Truman, Jewell, Josephine, and Geneva Humphries. Left to cherish his memories are sons: Thomas Wayne Humphries, Jr., Gregg William Humphries; step-sons: Steven Weatherly, Frankie Weatherly; grandchildren: Christopher Humphries, Holly Humphries, Ariel Weatherly, Ethan Estrada-Weatherly, Hunter Weatherly, and brother Donald Humphries.

Family and friends will gather for services November 9, 2020 at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Visitation will begin 8:30 a.m. with the funeral service starting promptly at 10:30 a.m.
