Thomas Harry Nicholson

Thomas H. "Nick" Nicholson born January 20, 1929, passed away on February 26, 2012. He is preceded in death by: wife, Shirley Nicholson; brothers: George & Willie Nicholson; sisters: Lucy Ellis & Evelyn Schmidt. Thomas proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the VFW Post 581. He worked for Cook Paint where he was a manager of shipping and receiving department. He later went on the be an entrepreneur and was the proud owner of Nick's Drive Inn since 1969. Thomas was a lifetime member of The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. He was a avid golfer and member of Jersey Meadows Cactus Club, Pinecrest and Cypresswood where he won several club championships. Thomas leaves to cherish his memories: children: Shirl Scanlin & husband Pat, Debra Nicholson & Kevin Andrews; stepsons: James & Rickey Wood; grandson & bestfriend, Ryan Lyons; grandchildren: Paige Scanlin, Christina, Jaime, Casey, Brett & Cody Wood; sister, Emma Henry; longtime employee, Victor Tubbs; special friend, Dolores Walker; loyal companions: his dogs, Prince Mozart Nicholson & Hobo; along with numerous neices & nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-8PM on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3PM on Friday, March 2, 2012 at Brookside Funeral Home Grand Chapel. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
