Thomas served his country for 9 years in the United States Air Force. He worked for Industrial Industries Incorporated for 23 years and was a Reserve Harris County Sheriff for 5 years, Harris County Constable for 7 years and retired from Sunrise Del of Houston after 11 years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After retiring, he liked to play cards with friends, sit outside on the porch swing and have coffee and work in his woodshop.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Elisabeth Taylor; children & their spouses Thomas E.Taylor Jr. and Debbie, Tianay Taylor, Tim Taylor and Cherè, Sean Taylor and Dee Anna, grandchildren Rebecca Rico, Andrew Rico, Mollie Taylor, Wyatt Taylor and Beau and Blaine Baldwin, great-grandchildren Bailee Rico, Rylee Rico, Maddox Rico, and Mackenzie Rico; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Thomas was preceded in death by; father Fernest Taylor; mother Daisy Taylor and step-mother Kay Taylor; granddaughter Caitlin Diana Taylor; four sisters and one brother.
Serving as pallbearers are Buddy Chatagnier, Kenneth Chatagnier, Gregory Chatagnier, Keith Chatagnier, Michael Wayne Gomez, Wyatt Taylor, Andrew Rico, Jerry Nicar, Lonnie LeVasseur, Brian Teer and Wade Johnson.
A visitation for Thomas will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Thursday, October 11, 2018 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 22800 Aldine Westfield Road, Spring, TX 77373 with a committal service and military honors to follow immediately at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77093.
