Matilde “Tillie” Jaramillo Cerda, 101, of Houston, Texas, entered into rest on August 5, 2019. She was born in La Reforma, Tamaulipas, Mexico, on March 14, 1918 to parents Margarito Jaramillo and Elisa Aguilar.
She graduated from Pres-Mex High School, and went on to become a devoted homemaker for her family, as well as a bookkeeper for Cerda Welding. Tillie was married to Frank G. Cerda, Sr. for 77 blessed years, and together they raised a beautiful family. She had a nurturing spirit and channeled it into her passion for gardening, baking, cooking, and sewing.
Tillie is survived by her husband, Frank G. Cerda, Sr.; children, Alice Perrenot and husband Frederick, Frank Jr. Cerda and wife Thelma, Mary Linda Carranco and husband Alfred; grandchildren, Christine, Stephanie, Rodney, Laura, Stephen, and Shawn; great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Timothy, Sydney, Seth, Brooke, Allison, Carissa, and Daniel.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. inside the Chapel of American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. The Celebration of Life service will commence on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., after which she will be escorted to the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, where she will be laid to rest.
