

Vala Jo Moye went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. She was born September 9, 1926 in Gainesville, TX. Vala Jo was preceded in death by her parents Allen and Clara Ward and her husband John Moye. Vala Jo is survived by her daughters Carol Kleckner and Gaye Ingram and husband Leon; grandchildren John Kleckner and wife Kristina, Travis Kleckner, Bethany Konlande and husband Matt, David Ingram; and great grandchildren Kenneth Kleckner, Joshua Konlande, Charlotte Konlande, and Juliette Konlande.
Vala Jo and John Moye met in junior high and married September 7, 1946. They were married for 42 years. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, family and church. After John’s death, Vala Jo continued to love her family and church. She had many friends who will remember her and miss her.
She graduated from Jeff Davis High School in San Antonio, TX. She attended Baylor University, 1943-1946. She loved children and taught kindergarten in Spring Branch ISD for 11 years.
Vala Jo was a member of Tallowood Baptist Church for over 50 years. She and John served together in Young Adult Sunday School for many years. After John’s death, she enjoyed serving on the Kitchen Committee. This faithful group became part of her family.
She and John enjoyed vacations in the mountains. John even convinced her to camp…in a fully equipped camper of course. They spent many years with family and friends exploring Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona.
Honorary pallbearers are Joe Burt, Jim Marrs, Carrol McGinnis, Oak Hall, Leon Ingram, David Ingram, John Kleckner, Travis Kleckner, and Matt Konlande.
Vala Jo’s faith and confidence in the grace and goodness of God encouraged and inspired her family. The assurance that she is in the presence of the Lord today causes us to rejoice.
The family wishes to thank and express appreciation for the care she received at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation at Ridgmar in Ft. Worth TX and to the compassionate staff at Universal Hospice and Palliative Care in Ft. Worth.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Building Fund of Tallowood Baptist Church.
