Velia was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was a loving mother and would always show her support to her family.
Velia is survived by her daughters Delia Hernandez and Yvonne Gomez Hernandez (Andrew); and her grandchildren Christina Ponce (Sergio), Ceferina Ramirez, Chris Ramirez (Serenity) and Anthony Ignacio Hernandez.
Velia was preceded in death by her husband Ignacio Gomez Jr. and daughter Lydia Ann Valdez.
A funeral service for Velia will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran St, Houston, TX 77009. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home & Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.
