Vera D Brandt

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Vera D. Brandt (Houston, Texas), who passed away at the age of 90, on April 29, 2025.

Vera, born in Russia, attended university in St. Petersburg where she graduated with a master’s degree in foreign languages (English and French) and further went on to acquire her PhD in Philosophy from the Moscow Academy of Sciences. In 1980 she emigrated to the United States to pursue a career in the academic world as a language instructor. With her strong faith and kind loving soul she eventually met and married Cyrill A. Brandt in 1991.

Vera will always be remembered by friends and family as a compassionate, kind and generous person. Vera was predeceased by her late husband Cyril Brandt and her granddaughter Vera Wunderlich as well as other family members from different parts of the world.

A visitation for Vera will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A committal service will occur Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077.
