Vernie was born in Vetal, South Dakota to Mary and Ray Anderson.
Vernie is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Everett E. Owens, Major USAF, RET.
Vernie is survived by sons Ronald E. Owens, Colonel USAF, RET and wife Christine; Gary S. Owens and wife Luana and grandchildren Lauren Owens, Camille Owens and Caitlin Owens and sister Bonnie Turner and brother Tom Anderson.
Visitation will be Friday, June 26, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00pm and the funeral service on Saturday, June 26 at 10:00 am at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 281-497-2210.
