Vivian Fallis passed away May 19, 2012 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Katy, Texas.
Vivian Carol Mills was born May 27, 1929 in Harlingen, Texas. She was the second daughter of Herbert E. Mills, a Dentist, and Nettie Lee Mills, a Nurse. She had two sisters; Katherine and Nancy. Vivian married John Wesley McJunkin III June 1, 1949. They had four sons; John Wesley McJunkin IV, Keith David McJunkin, Steven Craig McJunkin, and Daniel Mills McJunkin. Vivian’s husband, John Wesley McJunkin III passed away in 1974. In 1982, Vivian married Harold Ernst who passed away in 1995. Vivian was also preceded in death by her parents and her oldest sister, Katherine.
In 2009, she married Donald Fallis.
She is survived by her Husband, Donald Fallis; her younger sister, Nancy McWhorter; her sister-in-law, Helen Banuelos; her four sons; fourteen grandchildren and step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren that are on the way. Vivian was raised in Dickinson, Texas and attended Dickinson High School. She received her nursing training and graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
Vivian and her first husband, “Johnny” raised their sons in Katy where he managed Walker-Kurth Lumber Company. They eventually started a homebuilding business, “McJunkin & Sons Inc.”. In her professional career, Vivian worked in various capacities as a registered nurse. She served in Public Health, as a School Nurse, as an Emergency Room Nurse at Spring Branch Hospital and at Sam Houston Hospital, as an ICU Nurse and ultimately Head Nurse of ICU at Sam Houston Hospital. She worked as an Industrial nurse at Western Electric, AT&T, Champion Paper Company and as an Institutional Nurse for the Texas Department of Corrections.
Vivian is remembered as a loving and caring Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend to many. She was an active member of her church, St. Matthias Anglican.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 21, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Cathedral of St. Matthias, 4142 Dayflower, Katy, Texas 77449.
