It was my honor and my pleasure to share the same birthday with this beautiful Woman of God I can remember when we met we just clicked like a mother and a daughter should always remember my birthday because it was the same day as hers I will miss you mother Byrd I love you always Miss. Pat

Too many memories to recount. She has always been in my heart since the day I met many years ago. She spent many holidays and special times with my family.  I will FOREVER love and cherish the life we shared.  ~Sweetie 




I am so grateful to have known Mama Byrd.  We had an uncommon relationship, as she was nearly 50 years my senior, but someone I called “friend” and talked to often.  You would think we didn’t have that much in common with such an age gap, but we both shared many favorite things.  Among “our things” were Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys.  One Sunday last month, she called so excited because the Cowboys had won a close game.  I was in Europe at the time and after I told her it was around 3am in my time zone, she just kept on talking like I should be wide awake anyway. 

Mama Byrd had a broad perspective on life and I loved listening to her talk about her history.  I was amazed at her strength, resilience, and her independence.  She was also skilled with her hands and could crochet beautifully.  I am thankful I have several one-of-a-kind pieces that she made for me.  

Mama Byrd was a caring, giving woman and it gave her joy to share with others.  The absence of her laugh and her wise words have left a void in this world and she is certainly missed.   

Mother Byrd is what we all lovingly called her.  Her life was an example of God’s power and ability to take someone from a land of obscurity on one side of world, to a land full of prepared blessings on the opposite side of the world. I had the privilege of hearing her life stories in detail that gave me a clearer glimpse of God’s mighty hand that continues to guide me.  Heaven gave me a personal gift when it sent Mamma Byrd to my life.  For this, I’m eternally grateful.  Now, she’s an Angel that Heaven Father can and will bless me with in a greater way.  What a magnificent woman!

May GOD continue to strengthen your hearts at this difficult time. Wally will be missed and will forever live in our hearts. She was the most sweetest person anyone could ever know and love. 

Your smile, your laughter, the strength of your hugs, and the twinkle in your eye…all of these stand out and will be greatly missed. Although I knew you a shorter time in comparison to most, the memories are rich, full, and no less heartfelt. Thank you for loving Michelle, Nathan Sr., Christian, and Junior! You enhanced their lives. I am grateful for the space God allowed me to come to know and love you. My deepest condolences to my family during this time of bereavement  (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

I will always remember her smile and the laughter I had with her. Rest on sweet lady!  Love Thelma!
