Walter Richard Benefiel

Walter Richard Benefiel, 91, peacefully passed away at his home on July 19th, 2023. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 65 years Bessie (Camarata) Benefiel, children Paula Albertson, Richard Benefiel, Joe Benefiel, Nick Benefiel and Samuel Benefiel (Dawn). Nine grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren.

Richard was born and raised in Houston, Texas and was a Korean War Veteran, 3rd squad/3rd Platoon B Company 279th Regiment, 45th Division and a Schlumberger Retiree.

He was a member of The Sacred Heart Society and faithful member of St. Rose of Lima Church. Several great years were spent at the Oak Dad’s Club coaching his kids and countless others. Many lifelong friendships were made in these clubs.

Wonderful times were spent with family at the bay house that created fond memories for all. He also enjoyed going fishing and watching sports, go Astros!

Richard is proceeded in death by his parents L.G. Benefiel and Mable (Wright) Benefiel, brother L.G. Benefiel and sister Shirley Johnson.

The family wants to thank our brother Samuel for all his time, love and devotion caring for Daddy as well as our caretakers Jewel and Lisa as they are angels in disguise.
