

William L. (Bill) DeHaven, age 82, passed away August 18, 2011 in Houston, TX. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and later attended University of Texas, American Institute of Banking and Bank Administration Institute, obtaining a BBA. His career spanned 48 years with First City National Bank of Houston moving up to position as Vice President before retiring. Bill was a member of the Government Bond Club of Houston and American Bankers Association. He enjoyed all sports and collecting stamps and coins. We will miss his great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue DeHaven; daughters, Deborah Alberts and husband Grady, Beverly Cantagallo and husband David, Susan Martinez and husband Billy, Andrea DeHaven; son, George W. DeHaven; grandchildren, Kris Martinez & wife Ashley, Gregory Alberts and Bailee Martinez and 1 great-grandchild, Clairisa Martinez; sister, Jane McGee; nephews, Walter Lee McGee, Brian McGee and niece, Nancy McGee.
Visitation will be Monday, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX. (281) 497-2330 .
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Westminster United Methodist Church, 5801 San Felipe, Houston, TX 77057. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.Serving as Pallbearers are Jerry Scarbrough, Walter Lee McGee, Brian McGee, Michael Gould. Honorary Pallbearers are Cordell St. Cyr, Jim Lyon and Richard Nortin.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of Methodist Hospital Coronary Critical Care Unit and many friends for their care and support. Donations may be made in Bill’s name to The American Heart Association.
