I am one of the many who was touched by Bill's genuine leadership and good-natured spirit. Me and my family will be forever grateful to Bill and his family and how he led his life professionally and  personally. We are thankful he is a believer  in Jesus.

Bill was a great neighbor and easy going friend who was always a pleasure to spend time with. I really enjoyed his company and was really saddened to hear of his passing. Jan and all the girls, please accept our condolences, from the Foster family.

Dear Ones, We did not know of Bill's illness and grieve with you over his passing. A cherished father, husband, friend, and as you stated "fisher of men"...what a testimony of a life well lived to God's glory. We send our love, prayers and tender thoughts of each of you.

I first met Bill when he joined DBG&H as Creative Director. Great background in the business and I learned a lot from him professionally. He moved on before I left DBG&H. It was a life- and career-changing day when he called me from McCann-Erickson Dallas and offered me a job there. Again, huge influence on my career. We became friends and I will always remember him for his kind and considerate manner. HIs talent was huge, he spent it wisely and spread it generously. An honor to have worked with and to have known him.

To have been considered a friend with Jan, Bill and family is and has been such a blessing. Our families have been friends for over a hundred years and  is one of God's most marvelous favors to me. Bill was without a doubt the most unselfish man one could have the privilege of knowing.  His putting his family in a place of total love and care will always be remembered by others and by his precious Jan, Laura, and Mary Catherine. Such memories of gold, to carry them through in the days and years to come. May the Lord continue to bring you comfort in your hours of need. I am so blessed and privileged, because I got to grow up with Bill, and he was always one of my favorite and best heroes here on earth, and I have always been proud of him and looked up to him, because he is my big brother, and he has so completely, courageously, bravely, and lovingly followed the example of the big brother of us all.....our dear Savior! Everything everyone has said about Bill is true, and he was even better than words can describe! His commitment to the Savior, his family and friends and everything he did was always 100%+! He was always serving someone somewhere with love, patience, thoughtfulness and kindness, and his sincerity was always real and heartfelt! Bill is still that same sweet person we all knew and loved; he is just where we won't be able to see him right now, but his sweet love knows no bounds, so I am sure he will still be watching over and praying for his sweet family!  Bill is an angel who married an angel, and they are a great team!!!!  My love and prayers are with Jan and his precious children and his friends and loved ones, and I know he is having a great reunion right now, and knowing Bill, he will be making more friends and endearing himself to all, just as he has done here, and I know we will see him again and rejoice in his presence once

Jan and family, I hope you can find comfort in these words by Randy Alcorn as you mourn the loss of precious Bill.  "Our parting is not the end of our relationship, only an interruption.  Our loved ones are experiencing the joy of Christ's presence in a place so wonderful that Christ called it Paradise.  And one day, we're told, in a magnificent reunion, they and we "will be with the Lord forever.  Therefore encourage each other with these words."

Dear Jan,
I am so sorry for your loss, but so happy that Bill is now with Jesus.  I know you will miss him greatly until the time when you will all be united!  Take care and may God's strength and love be with you all in the coming days and weeks as you grieve!

Life's journey allows each of us to cross paths and form relationships with other people; some are short-term, others long-term, and those very special: forever.  I reflect on the special times my wife and I spent with Bill and Jan when we were newlyweds living in Houston.  I will always be grateful for your forever friendships.  I am certain Bill is with the ultimate fishing buddy up in Heaven.  Jan, Laura, Mary Catherine and your entire family: We are with you in thought and prayers.  May God bless you all.

The first time Bo and I met Bill, it was about business as well. We can't forget how Bill wanted our toddler to have a very valuable toy that was displayed in his home (its a collectors item). We quickly shared our love for fishing and that's when we learned of his cancer. We will miss that warm, gentle, loving, selfless soul. The world is severely in need of more people like Bill. We need his courage, and we need to emulate the example of how awesome a man he IS. I personally will never forget the bit of advice he gave me.  God bless you Bill Edwards.

Bill was a kind and gentle soul, a quick friend and will be missed. Prayers of comfort for Jan and his family and all his friends who will miss him.

I enjoyed so much visiting with Bill on the phone and praying with him, I can only imagine what he is experiencing in heaven right now!! Well done good and faithful servant! I remember the first time I met Bill. It was initially about business and quickly I knew that Bill was something special and we became friends. If we ever wonder if their are angels on earth...well we know there are because Bill was one of them and now he has been called back to heaven. I am sad that I will no longer have my fishing buddy, but I am enternally gratefull that I was able to have met him, fish with him, become his friend and become like a brother which will last me forever.

Debbie and I are so grateful for the Lord's connecting our lives with yours that week at Wind River. We've been honored to be part of your team in prayer over these years. The Lord's power and promises have been so evident in your lives.

Mr. Edwards....what can I say about you that everyone doesn't already know! You are an inspiration to many and you will be greatly missed. I cherish our talks when you would come by the office! I always looked forward to hearing about your family as well as your love for Jan! I still have the cross missing from the penny I gave to you during your time of need! I will forever keep it close. You were more than a patient to all of us here at Houston Retina, you were our friend.
