

Junior accepted Christ and was baptized at the New Sunshine Baptist Church in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana at an early age. He attended schools in and around Mansfield, Louisiana. William Jr., graduated from DeSoto High School in 1955. Soon after High School, he joined the United States Army where he proudly served for four years. While still in the military he married the love of his life Gladys White. They lived and loved each other until her death in 2014. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Ronnie, Carolyn and Rodney.
As head of his family, Junior was always a great provider. After the military, he moved his family to Houston, where he worked in several manufacturing plants. Eventually, he found his true passion in owning and driving his beloved dump trucks.
He is preceded in death by both parents, William and Perlie; sisters, Willie Ruth, Mae Ola; sons, Ronnie and Rodney.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Carolyn; son−in−law Garron (“Bo”); grandchildren, Christopher and DeShawn Padia, Rodney Mercer, Jr. (Taylor), Tarissa Crawford (Dominique) and Xavier; two great−grandchildren, Katelyn and Derean; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
