

She was born December 19, 1938 in San Diego, Texas to parents Alfinio and Paula Salinas. She was married for 34 years to the love of her life Alfredo (Fito) Saenz. Although they never had children of their own, together they raised her younger sister Imelda from the age of six.
Fito and Yolanda enjoyed life to the fullest. They loved to dance and share camaraderie with many friends. Yolanda was a nurse for 51 years and worked for several different hospitals, including hospice and most recently for Total Health Care. She was always full of compassion and went up and beyond to help anyone in need. She has most certainly earned her wings in heaven.
Preceded in death by her husband and by her sister Naomi, she is survived by her beloved pet Parrot (Pepe), sister/daughter, Imelda and husband Freddy Salazar, Brother Sergio and wife Heika Salinas, Nieces/Granddaughters, Christina and husband Alex Cantu, Laura and husband Neil Hough and three great grandchildren, Anthony Cantu, Andrew Cantu, and Noah Hough along with a=many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 9:00am to 11:00am at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 11:00am to 12:00pm with a reception to follow. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
