To Dakota's family, I worked with Dakota for two years at HMS. I remember his sheepish smile looking up at me through his long blonde hair, with his big blue eys waiting for me to "save" him from the "mean" teachers, as he used to say.  He was an awesome kid, that brought joy to my classroom. I will always have a special place in my heart for him; after all, he was like "my at school son." Rest in Peace, Dakota.

Dakota, our little Kota bear, you are missed so much.  But, grandma carries you in her heart so you will always be with me.  You now soar higher than the eagles until we're together again.  Grandma loves you always.  I will forever remember your smile, your laughter and your hugs.

You are so unbelievably missed Kota Bear. It will be a year tomorrow since you been gone. Still feels like it just happened and it still really hurts but knowing the things you would say just to cheer us up helps us to get by. Our memories of you are everywhere we go and in our hearts. I can't believe it's been almost a yr since we lost you. Dakota you were a wonderful,  helpful young man.  Always worked hard to make money. I miss your contagious smile, your laugh and your floppy blonde hair ! I so wish I had the chance to see you last year before you left us. I think of you often, how I miss seeing you come down the block and hang out for awhile. R.I.P Koda, just know how many people loved you & how much you are missed. I am truly blessed to have had Dakota as a student. He was my little side kick at HMS for a year and a half.  I am sorry about the loss of Dakota.  My heart still aches.  Praying for all of you.
