Irene Nelson

Irene Nelson, 93, of New Port Richey, Florida passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014. She was born to John and Sophia Ruda on September 8, 1920 in Thorp, Wisconsin. She moved to Port Richey from Lake County, Illinois in 2001.

Irene is remembered by families and friends as a family-oriented and very helpful person. She is also remembered for having a great sense of humor. She also was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary at Post# 4308 in Lake Villa, Illinois. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

She is survived by her children: Alan Nelson (Deb), Gael Gostomski (Rich), and Marian Scroggin (Dave); grandchildren: Michelle, Sandy, Debbie, Roger, Glenn, and Christy; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Morris in 1987.
