Aniceto F. Ortiz, age 94, passed away peacefully from this world with his loving wife by his side holding his hand, on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at his home in Ceres, CA. Aniceto was born in Culiacan, Mexico, to Manuel Felix and Apolinaria Ortiz, and later lived in Modesto and Ceres for over 70 years. He was a man of many skills and loved building and working on cars. He previously worked for Central Valley Rancher John Cox of Patterson, CA, and later for Tillie Lewis Foods for over 25-years, where he was a forklift operator. He belonged to Teamsters Union Local 748 and was a faithful member of the Apostolic Assembly Church for over 68 years. He was a very hardworking, humble and dedicated family man. He loved gardening, working with his tools, baseball, and his cat, Lady.
Aniceto is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Eva Maria Ortiz, and six children: David, Daniel (Maria), Becky Ortiz-Morris (John), Polly Ammon (Jim), Ben (Lisa), and Aniceto (Maria). He also leaves behind three children in Nevada: Chester, Amelia Mecinnis (John), and Juan. He is survived by 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 10:00 AM, at The House Modesto, 1601 Coffee Road, Modesto, CA. The interment is also scheduled for October 19, 2021, at 1:00 PM, at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, CA.
Serving as pallbearers are Benjamin Ortiz, Aniceto Ortiz, Daniel A. Ortiz, Christopher Garcia, Andrew Ortiz, Benjamin V. Ortiz, Stephen Ortiz, Aniceto M. Ortiz, David Ortiz, Daniel A. Ortiz and Michael Ortiz.
