C. Dwaine Carver
November 11, 1938 - January 7, 2023
Modesto, California - C. Dwaine Carver passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 7, 2023 at the age of 84. He was born November 11, 1938, in Modesto, California to Harold and Helen Carver. He graduated from Thomas Downey High School, Class of 1956 and met the love of his life, Renee Cardey, Class of 1957. Dwaine married Renee on July 25, 1957, a union which lasted 57 years until her death in 2014. They raised their family in Modesto at their country property on Parker Road in a custom-built home overlooking Dry Creek. Dwaine was a carpenter his entire life, always building something and turned that love into a successful business as a General Contractor, building many schools, commercial projects and churches in the area. He was a past member of Modesto Rotary, a COG club member and took great joy in volunteering for any building projects. He loved to golf and was a long time member of Del Rio Country Club. He and Renee traveled the world and loved searching for family genealogy long before DNA testing became available. They took a memorable trip to the Holy Land, plus many other adventures on sea, land and in the air. Dwaine loved to adventure like hiking to the top of Half Dome, rafting the Rio Grande and Colorado rivers, studying an active volcano in Central America with the Smithsonian Institute to name just a few. He received his pilot’s license in his 50’s and he and Renee spent many enjoyable years flying throughout the United States in his private airplane. Pine Mountain Lake was another favorite place to spend their life by building a second home on the airport runway. He was active in several churches in the area, and loved being a greeter in his later years. He was the one wearing a black top hat to church. Dwaine lived his life to the fullest, loving his home, his work, and, most importantly, his family. We will miss his humor and infectious laughter. Dwaine is survived by his sister, Lynn Ashby, his three children: Ed Carver (Chari), Gary Carver (Marianne) and Sandra Jenson (Ken). His 11 grandchildren brought him great joy: Chris Mason, Kelsey Profitt, Alley Mason-Sutton, Kendra Mason, Kayla Jones, John Carver, Elyce Carver, Keziah Carver, Lliana Carver, Abrielle Carver, and Eliam Carver, plus 9 great grandchildren. We give the glory to God for His blessings on our family. We would like to thank our friend Joanne Hall for her love and support to our father over the past couple of years and to Graceful Living in Oakdale for their loving care during his last days. A funeral service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson, in the Heritage Chapel on January 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
