December 24, 1948 - July 4, 2023
Escalon, California - Cynthia "Cindy" Mogensen-Tyler was born in 1948 in Modesto, CA, to Carl "Lee" and Martha Mogensen. Cindy was the oldest of their three children. Cindy graduated from Downey High School in 1967 and later received an associate degree from Modesto Junior College. Cindy followed in her father's footsteps and pursued a career with the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier. Cindy dedicated more than 37 years to the postal service and retired in 2006.
Cindy loved to travel. Some of her favorite destinations included Europe and Hawaii. Cindy enjoyed wine tasting, a cold glass of chardonnay being her preferred wine of choice. Cindy was an avid book reader and enjoyed multiple genres. Cindy loved food and always wanted to broaden her horizons and try new things, but also enjoyed the comforts of tradition including famous Mogy's mac n' cheese and Christmas æbleskivers. Of all these things that Cindy loved, Cindy loved people. She loved her family, her friends, and her community. Cindy had the biggest heart, and if you knew her you knew this to be true. A group that was very dear to her heart was the Alzheimer's/Dementia Support Center (ADSC) where she devoted much of her time volunteering.
Cindy passed away at her home in Escalon on July 4, 2023. Cindy leaves behind her fiancé Gary, son Jedediah, brother Randy, sister Laura and niece Karlee. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, July 22, at 10:00 AM at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson. A celebration of life will follow at her home in Escalon. Donations in Cindy's memory may be made to ADSC 700 McHenry Ave. Suite B, Modesto, CA 95350.
Cindy – Goodbye is not forever. Goodbye is not the end. It simply means I'll miss you, until we meet again.
