Delpha Matilda (Combs) McCall-Cocke

Delpha was born at home in Colorado near the Kansas border. Her paternal grandmother was a midwife and assisted in her birth.

Parents: Della Adelman Combs and Andrew (Joe) Combs

Delpha was the middle child between 4 brothers: Frank, Bernard, Homer and Hayden.

Her family moved to Hughson, California from Colorado during the Dust Bowl in 1937.

She met and married Frank McCall in 1946 and had 4 children: Sherry Ille, James McCall, Deborah Qualle and Luella Webster.

Delpha and Frank were married for 49 years.

She had 8 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.

She became a Certified Nurse's Assistant and worked at Elness Convalescent Hospital until she retired.

Delpha and Frank enjoyed traveling to New Mexico for Frank’s Army Reunions and Oklahoma, Colorado and Kansas to visit relatives.

After Franks death, she met and married Oscar Cocke in 1998 and was married for 19 years.

Delpha was a member of the Hughson First Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and the Rebekahs. She enjoyed volunteering at the Hughson Senior Citizens and crocheting hangers to give as gifts. She looked forward to dinner every evening at Samaritan Village with her friends Bernice, Milly and Sandy.

A luncheon will be provided after the service at The Fruit Yard located at 7948 Yosemite Blvd Modesto, CA

A visitation for Delpha will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home

A graveside service will occur Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakewood Memorial Park - Tuolumne Garden.
