

Devita Tenorio Palacpac, age 60, was born on January 27, 1951, in Taleb Bantay Ilococs Sur Philippines, and after a courageous battle with a brief illness, Devita passed on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Memorial Hospital, Modesto, CA. Devita moved to the United States of America in 1971 along with her parents and siblings, they resided in Hughson, CA. She soon married Alfredo Lopez Palacpac in 1974 and began a beautiful bond. Her first job in the US was with Tri-Valley Cannery in Modesto, CA. She moved on from there and worked at Foster Farms Hatcheries over the course of 30+ years. During those years she received numerous awards for her exceptional performance and safety. Devita gave birth to her first son, Freddie Tenorio Palacpac in 1977 and followed with her second son, Rodel Tenorio Palacpac in 1982. She was the backbone of her family and raised two loving boys who love her dearly. Her heart and love was adored by all who knew or came in contact with her. She had a willingness nature to help others, out of the goodness of her heart. Devita was extremely faithful and devoted her life to her Roman Catholic faith. She attended mass regularly at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Turlock and St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Hughson. She was also a member of numerous Filipino Organizations throughout Central California. Most importantly her husband's organization, Bantay Ilocos Sur Association of USA. Devita is survived by her siblings, Francisco, Agapito, Victorino, Patricia, Eleuterio; her husband, Alfredo Lopez Palacpac; her eldest son, Freddie Tenorio Palacpac; her youngest son, Rodel Tenorio Palacpac; one granddaughter, Mercedez Jerrun Palacpac, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins in the US and Philippines. Devita was preceded in death by her parents, Macario Paet Tenorio and Maria Purisima Rapisura, and second youngest brother, Ponciano Tenorio. Visitations will be held 4-8pm on Thursday and Friday (Rosary at 6pm on Friday) at the Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson. Mass will be held at 9:30am at All Saints Catholic Campus Ministry to CSU Stanislaus in Turlock. Burial will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park following the Mass.
