Fannie Pauline Howard

29 August, 192626 July, 2020

Fannie Pauline Howard was born on August 29th, 1926 in Mount Pleasant Texas, to John and Lovie Jones. She grew up there with her three brothers and one sister. At sixteen, she met and fell in love with John Howard. Although he was called away to WWII, she waited three long years for him. They immediately married upon his return on December 19th, 1945. They then moved to northern California and started their family. She was a wonderful homemaker and devoted mother to their five children. She loved to cook and sew. She could can most anything, and passed those skills down to her children and grandchildren. Her canned vegetable soup, that was made with the freshest ingredients from their garden, was a prize to be opened. She also loved to fish and play cards with her husband, specifically Gin rummy. She adored music and had many fond memories of singing with her sister. She encouraged all her children to sing in church and even taught her daughters to harmonize. What she valued most though, was teaching her children the importance of God’s word. She reminded those around her to trust in the Lord always. She will remain in our hearts forever as a beautiful example of a truly faithful woman. She is survived by her five children, Wayne (Sheron) Howard, Darlene (Bill) Buttram, Geary Howard, Debra (Tom)Stump, Donna (Jon) David’s. Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, two brothers and a sister.
