James Jerry Jackson

James, Jerry Jackson, 85, passed away February 10, 2024, at Memorial Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born November 12,1938 in Erwin, North Carolina. He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina until he was a young adult and enlisted with the United States Navy in 1957 and was stationed in Japan during his service. He finished his term at the San Diego Naval Base in California in 1962. He then moved to the Modesto area, where he started his career with the United Association of Pipefitters Union that spanned forty years until retirement, and he remained a union member for sixty years. During those years he met his truest love, Dori Day. They remained in the Modesto area as they raised their children. In October 2023 they celebrated 39 years of marriage.

He was known as Jerry to the friends and family who loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Bobbie Boutin, Jackie Meggs, Janet Luedtke.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Dorene (Day) Jackson, are his sons, James Jamie Jackson and his wife, Mendy of Ceres; Jerry Wayne Jackson and his wife, Lisa of Modesto; Scott Jackson of Oregon; Brandon Cunliffe and his wife, Dori of Modesto; Trevor Jackson of Modesto; daughters, Brandi Speckens and her husband, Marc of Turlock; Amber Hernandez and her husband, Juan of Turlock; Tiffany Martins and her husband, Danny of Modesto. Fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
