Joseph Fontana was born in Salida, California on November 1, 1923. He passed away at the home he grew up in on January 8 at the age of 95. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his father and mother, Frank and Mary Fontana, his sister Mary Teuber, and his brothers Andrew and Anthony Fontana. He is survived by his sisters Antoinette Green and Anita Hampsten (Ken); 2 children, Linda Cavan and Sandra Jischke; 3 step-children, Becky Ottersbach (Carla), Tracy Jones, and Peter Ottersbach (Michelle); 4 grandchildren, David Haverly (Laura), Danielle Shippey, David Jischke, Jona Talamante (Tony); 11 great grandchildren, Cody, Wolfgang, Liam, Caleb, Canyon, Cierra, Samantha, Vincent, Juliana, Britney and Michael; 4 great-great grandchildren, Justin, Jaxon, Jacob and Preston; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be Thursday, January 17, 4:00-8:00 p.m. with Memorial Services at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18. Both are at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, 900 Santa Fe Avenue.
