Joe L. Pires

Joe L. Pires of Modesto, CA passed away on April 22, 2023 at the age of 78 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in Terceira, Azores Portugal on June 16, 1944 to Jose and Zulmira Pires. Joe always enjoyed farming , riding around on his tractor, and being outdoors. He was known to “make his rounds” in his orchard with dogs in tow while riding around on his John Deere Gator. His other passion was his family, Joe loved to be around his kids and grandkids. His favorite vacation place was Disneyland and he enjoyed listening to country music.

Joe is survived by his daughter JoAnn Pires-Bautista(Michael Bautista), Son Greg Pires(Antoinette), Sister Zelma Souza (Bob), Granddaughter Mikaela Pires, Grandson Austin Pires (Jordan), Grandsons Jaden and Jared Bautista , Great-grandson (in Utero) Crew Pires, Step-son Chris Addor, and Step-grandsons Ryan and C.J. Addor.

He is preceded in death by his Parents Zulmira Roza Pires and Jose Borges Pires, Wife Vickie D. Pires and his Sister Maria Pires Lourence.

A visitation for Joe will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd from 4-8PM at Lakewood Funeral Home (Heritage Chapel) and a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 3rd at 2PM at Lakewood Funeral Home (Heritage Chapel) and immediately following the conclusion of the service a Graveside service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
