Kenneth Lee Groves

One proud American patriot to his last days, Kenneth Lee Groves, Sr. passed away on September 27, 2018 at 1:55 a.m. while he was a patient at Memorial Hospital in Modesto. He was born on June 6, 1930, and lived to be 88 years of age. As a veteran, he will rest in peace beside his wife, Reba Joyce Groves. Graveside services will be held at Lakewood Cemetery on Tuesday November 9th at 2;00 p.m. Adrian Condit will speak There will also be a six gun salute.

Kenneth Groves, Sr. leaves behind his two sons: Kenneth Lee Groves, Jr. and Michael Jon Groves, Sr. Bernie Vierra is Michael Jon Groves, Sr.'s fiancée. Michael has two sons and a daughter. Their names are Michael Jon, Jr., Marcus and Miranda Lee Groves. Miranda has a son and a daughter ( Braden and Brooklyn, respectfully).

The parents of Kenneth Lee Groves, Sr. and his brother Wayne are the late Earnest Alongo Groves and Lydia Alice Groves (later Perchel). Wayne and his wife Joyce had three daughters. Their names are Judy Groves (now Wyatt), Karen Groves (now Derks) and Sheri Groves (now Hughes).

After serving in the military, Kenneth Lee Groves, Sr. worked as a carpenter when he met and married Reba Groves (then Skaggs). Shortly after, he was hired by Edwards Rocket Base where he ordered aviation equipment for scientists during the space race. Later, he was hired as an expeditor/supervisor at Sharp Army Depot. He was an assistant manager at Richland True Value Hardware. He and Michael John did maintenance work at River Oaks Golf Course...and for the City of Ceres where he earned an "employee of the year" award - chosen by his co-workers. His sons Kenneth Lee Groves, Jr. and Michael Jon Groves are darn proud of him. He served his community as well as his country well.
