Loretta Lackey passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was 85 years and 33 days old. She was born in Arkansas to Orbin and Mattie Lokey on October 10, 1934. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to California where she remained her entire life. She attended school in Riverbank where she met her future husband, Claude Lackey, at a school dance. They married in March 1952 and remained married for 60 years until his passing in 2012.
Loretta worked as a hostess and cocktail waitress for many years at several different restaurants and card rooms in Modesto. She loved playing pinochle and having family gatherings and lunch dates with her girlfriends. But most of all, she loved her grandchildren.
Loretta is survived by her granddaughters, Kymberly and Kortney Lackey, her grandson Jordan Lackey, her sister Dolores, “Dee” Wilmouth, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her son Larry, her husband Claude, and her sister Imogene Conway.
