

Maria De La Luz Rico Bernal was born in Sugar Pine California on 07/31/30. She was married to Manuel G. Bernal on 03/09/1951 in Tijuana, Baja California. They had a fruitful marriage for 67 years. Luz of Empire, CA, passed away on 04/25/26.
For a short time, Maria De La Luz worked as a Laborer for Tri Valley Growers. Luz had passion for her family, sightseeing, music, dancing, and her garden. Luz was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a mentor of life. She saw the good in people and accepted them as they were.
She was a strong willed woman with a heart of gold. Luz sought ways to bring family and friends together. It was through her cooking that you would forget all of your worries that you carried on your shoulders when you walked into her home and exchanged it for laughter and peace. In return, she was repaid with endless love.
She was survived by her children: Manuel Bernal Jr., Elsa Bernal, Stephanie Bernal, Ernesto Bernal, Irma Bernal, Marcos Bernal, and Armando Bernal.
Her husband, Manuel G. Bernal, has been deceased since 2018. Her son, Alex Bernal, has been deceased since 1995.
She was survived by her grandchildren: Magdalena Bernal, Antonia Bernal, Manuel Bernal III, Jesus Ortiz Jr., Aurora Ortiz, Maria Marroquin, Patricia Ortiz, Sergio Molina, David Molina, Carolina Rodriguez, Sandra Bernal, Bianca Bernal, Alex Bernal Jr., Alexxa Bernal, Ernest Bernal Jr., John Apodoca, Marcos Bernal Jr., Alicia Fabela, Armando Bernal Jr., Bryce Bernal, and Blake Bernal.
She was also survived by her great-grandchildren: Valentina Madrigal, Angel Ortiz, Jesse Ortiz, Liliana Ortiz, Catalina Ortiz, Noah Weidema, Jimmy Marroquin Jr., Emiliano Marroquin, Sebastian Marroquin, Genavieve Deo, Kevinal Deo Jr., Lucy Deo, Xavier Molina, Marissa Molina, Evan Molina, Nathan Molina, Leah Molina, Leylani Bernal, Isael Bernal, Eliana Bernal, Liliana Bernal, Joey Fabela Jr., Rico Fabela, Justin Fabela, Ruby Fabela, Bryce Bernal Jr., Bella Bernal, Starlina Bernal, Faith Rodriguez, Carolina Rodriguez, Liliana Rodriguez, Edwin Rodriguez, Genesis Rodriguez, Timothy McVay Jr., Gavin McVay, Jasper McVay, Naylah McVay, Jeremiah Davis, Eli Ramirez.
