Nancy Long Burton passed away peacefully on December 12, 2015 at 95 years young. She was born on May 31, 1920 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Cyrus Edward and Martha Eliza Barnett. Nancy married John Long in 1938 and they had two children, Edward and Karen. They were married for 36 years before he passed away in 1974. She met and married John Burton in 1976, who passed away in 2001. Nancy was a resident of Modesto for over 50 years. She enjoyed time with family and friends, cooking, fishing, boating and shopping. Nancy is survived by her grandchildren Terry Long, Karen Long, John Long, Larry Long, Penny Williamson and Kevin Olson; step daughter Lynda Scofield; and step sons John and Larry Burton. She has 5 great grandchildren. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, children and two husbands. She was an elegant lady and loving mother, wife and grandmother. Nancy will be missed by all who knew her. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 am at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, California.
