

Nancy was born in Oklahoma, and moved to Modesto in 1938 and lived there until her marriage to Dick in 1949. She and Dick lived in Oregon while he finished college, later moving to San Mateo County in 1951. They lived there for 48 years, raising three sons. After growing up around her mother, who had been blinded at birth, Nancy learned to transcribe Braille and became a certified Braillist, transcribing text books into Braille as a member of the Peninsula Braille Transcribers Project of Santa Clara County. She continued doing that until she was 91 years old.
Nancy is survived by her sons: James of Carson City, NV; Richard of Foster City, CA; and Thomas of Aliso Viejo, CA; 5 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Her parents were Homer and Ruth Hudlow, and her sisters were the late Anne Halsey (deceased 1999) and Grace Odell (deceased 2020).
There will be a graveside service on Friday, January 24th at 11:00AM at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson. Remembrances may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Covenant Village, 2125 N. Olive Avenue, Turlock or to your favorite charity.
