Nerissa “Rissa” Sparks was born on September 6, 1959 in the Philippines and joined her parents Naomi and Guillermo Sarmiento and brothers Rogelio “Rollie” and Amado “Eddie” Sarmiento in Eternal Paradise on December 22, 2020. She is survived by her husband and best friend Jerry Sparks, daughters Jessica Sparks-Kelch and Jeri Sparks-Gonsalves, and son Randell “JJ” Gloria, sons-in-law Aaron Kelch and Nathan Gonsalves, daughter-in-law Anne Kristel Gloria, and grandchildren Ethan, Caleb, Layla, Lincoln, Charee Rose, Izabelle, Aysyn, and Serenity, a grand baby on the way, and her brother Henry Sarmiento. She also leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and laughter in the faces and memories of many family, friends, and coworkers that had the privilege of knowing her during her short 61 years on Earth.
Graveside service to celebrate Rissa is scheduled for Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 10:00AM at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, California. Masks are required for attendance. Rissa’s service will also be streamed online on Lakewood Funeral Home’s Facebook page as well as on Lakewood’s website.
