With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Paula Kay Lovett, who left this world peacefully on January 26, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on May 30, 1944, in Stigler, Oklahoma, but raised in Tamaha, Oklahoma. Paula lived a life filled with love, kindness, and an unforgettable smile.
She began her working life as a grocery checker in Oklahoma before moving to Modesto, California, in 1969. She dedicated eight years to Thrifty Drugs before beginning a long and fulfilling career at Hershey Chocolate, where she worked for 29 years, retiring in 2006.
Paula was a woman of deep faith, a believer in God, and lived her life with warmth and generosity. She had a love for gardening, especially caring for her beautiful roses, and found joy in dancing in the kitchen. She adored Mexican food and could never pass up a slice of her favorite blackberry pie.
Above all, Paula cherished her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Helton and Stella Thomas, as well as three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Helton of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, her children, Roberta and Thomas Lovett, her grandson, Mark Lovett, and her beloved great-granddaughters, Kayleigh and Allissa Lovett. Her daughter, Roberta, remained by her side, offering love and comfort until her final moments.
Paula’s kindness, grace, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A service to honor Paula’s life will be held February 6, 2025 10:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home in the Heritage Chapel, located 900 Santa Fe Ave. Hughson, CA 95326, where family and friends can gather to celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
