Bob passed away on his birthday surrounded by his family and
dear friends. On that day, family and friends celebrated his
birthday as Bob would have celebrated any birthday. He had
bravely undergone six months of intensive treatment for pancreatic
cancer.
Bob lived all his life in the Turlock and Modesto area. He attended
Sacred Heart Elementary and Turlock High School. He worked
in the food and market industry, most recently at Cost-Less Market.
He valued his job and he was known as a dedicated, hard-working
employee.
Bob was a fun loving man who rode motorcycles, enjoyed
watersports in the nearby lakes, had an interest in cars, and
viewing all sports. But in particular, he was a die-hard fan of
the Raiders.
He also possessed a wicked sense of humor, making all laugh
with his funny stories. He was known for cooking a mean
menudo and posole, making jumbo tamales, and he was a
master at the BBQ.
Bob was truly loved and adored by his family, and is survived
by his treasured children, Bobby and Phylicia. He will be
remembered and never forgotten by his siblings - Luisa, SP,
Liz and Lionel (Denise) his nieces and nephews, his aunts and
uncles, his cousins, his wide circle of friends, and his co-workers.
His loving companion, Edie Spetch will miss him dearly.
Bob and his family are grateful for the outstanding medical
attention he received from Emanuel Medical Center, California
Pacific Medical Center, UCSF, Memorial Hospital and the
Alexander Cohen Hospice House.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at
10:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home (Riverside Chapel), 900
Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, CA.
Donations can be made to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres
Way, Modesto, CA., 95356.
