Robert Hervey passed away after a brief illness at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Jean J. Hervey, his daughters Janet Hervey, Eloise Covalt (Randy), Lynn Richardson (Jim), and his son Scott Hervey (Melinda). He is also survived by six grandchildren: Samantha and Matt Covalt, Libby Richardson, and Andrew, Emily, and Aiden Hervey. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Covey and Bette Azevedo, and one brother, Charles Hervey.
Mr. Hervey was a dedicated member of the Church of Christ at both Davis Park in Modesto and the Turlock congregation.
Mr. Hervey was a veteran of US Army Air Forces, and a graduate of Abilene Christian University where he also taught until moving to Modesto, California in 1960. Here, he enjoyed teaching at Downey High School until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Hervey was an almond farmer on a farm north of Turlock where he enjoyed hosting numerous family and church events.
Private family graveside services were held at Lakewood Memorial Park on May 16, 2012.
