Rosia "Susie" Mendes, age 95 of Modesto, passed away on Tuesday, March 8,
2011. She was born in Melrose, Arkansas to parents John and Minnie York.
One of several jobs she had was as a cook and waitress for over 20 years.
Susie is survived by her husband John Mendes, daughter Frances Williams,
brother Edwin York, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and ten great
great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Nellie Baker, five brothers and
three sister.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 14th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at
Lakewood Funeral Home (Riverside Chapel), 900 Santa fe Ave., Hughson, CA.,
with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Lakewood Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
