My heart is broken, 
Serge (Junior)  was my best friend growing up and we had so many great times together, playing in our yards, skating, T-ball and camping at his family cottage, road trips with our families, getting into trouble and our shenanigans kept our parents busy for sure. Although we were estranged for several years, we rekindled our friendship  and had quite a few laughs. 
I’m happy he found his soulmate in Claire and had the opportunity to be a father and grandfather to some amazing children. I will always love him and he will forever be in my memories. Rest in Peace Serge.

I came to know Serge as a colleague for many years.  I always respected his honesty and the strength of support he provided his team, even under the most difficult of circumstances.  I relied on Serge for his wisdom and expertise more times than I can count.  He was passionate about so many things, and it showed in both his work and his friendships. I started working with Serge when I was just 20 years old—young, still trying to find my path. Serge was my direct supervisor, and from the very beginning, he offered coaching, guidance, and the kind of leadership that stays with you for a lifetime.

Serge wasn’t always easy to work for—but not because he was harsh. It was because he saw the potential in each of us. He expected a lot, and that came from a place of pride. He truly believed in us, sometimes more than we believed in ourselves. Serge was direct—he told you exactly what he thought—but behind that directness was a man with a big heart. He simply wanted the best from and for everyone, especially during those early and formative years of our careers.

He taught us the value of teamwork. He showed us that individual success meant little without collective success. And because of that, many of us would say the same thing: our team was strong, unified—“well welded,” as some would say—and it was because of Serge.

But beyond being a leader and mentor, I got to know Serge as a true friend. Whether we were at his home or at his cottage, Serge always made sure everyone was looked after. He’d ask if you were comfortable, if you needed anything, if you wanted something to drink—always the host, always thinking of others. His kindness wasn’t something he turned on and off; it was just who he was.

Serge left a mark not just through his work, but through the way he made people feel—valued, supported, and cared for. He taught us lessons that went far beyond the workplace. He was a mentor, a friend, and above all, a man with an extraordinary heart.

I will miss him deeply, but I will carry his lessons—and his spirit—with me, always.

As a retired funeral director from McEvoy-Shields I have nothing but fond memories of Serge with whom it was a pleasure to be associated. In my retirement he, with his great disposition, was always a joy to meet.
While he did not get to enjoy length of years he leaves many remembrances of a good man whose qualities will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

The very first time that Serge came to Vancouver as the market manager of Care Centres, we went to lunch. He disclosed to me that he was a Chiefs fan. Being a Raiders fan I knew we would have interesting discussions.  We both enjoyed the banter that comes with football fans of different teams. Over the years, along with Wayne Mills we carried on many lively three way conversations that went well beyond the work we shared.
Over the following years our relationship evolved into a friendship that lasted beyond my retirement. When my mother passed, in Ottawa, he supported me at every step. 
I will miss him greatly as my boss co-worker and mostly as a friend.

My prayers are with you.   Serge was a great guy and well respected. There are a lot of  great memories. One memory was meeting you, and the honour of having dinner with you and Serge in Coal Harbour at Cardero's.  He built many great relationships and had a great heart.

Truly sorry for your loss. Serge was so proud of his family.

He was one of a kind. I always enjoyed his visits to Edmonton and still smile thinking about our work trip to Elk Ridge, SK. The group texts during playoffs already feel emptier without his trademark “Go Sens Go.” Sundays this fall won’t be the same without Serge cheering on his beloved Chiefs.

This is a great photo of Serge. I made him let me take it as I needed a profile picture to add for his contact information. I'm so happy to have this memory of him. Serge, you are truly missed.

Serge was not someone who wanted a fuss made of him, but when he was at the Vancouver Care Centre on his Birthday and not able to properly celebrate with Claire, we made sure he had something special to remember! 
You can imagine his discomfort with all this attention LOL... it was worth every moment :-)

This is so sad, and I'm so sorry for Claire, the kids, his family, friends and colleagues. 

Serge and I worked together for a number of years. He was an encouraging mentor, and a manager I've continued to remember fondly. 

Serge was funny, and he was generous. It wasn’t often he said no to a "quick chat",  to macaroons from the French Baker, summer Dairy Queen runs, or a beer or two after work. 

He was often a source of levity, a welcome contrast to the work we did. 

I know he will be missed by many.

Serge was one in a million. He was an individual that cared about the families he served, he cared about the staff he worked with and he was a great leader. His sense of humour was fantastic and he always made meetings fun. I always enjoyed working with him. He will be missed.

Serge will be missed. He went out of his way to support me, both at work and in life. I’ll never forget when he drove me to a vet appointment. Sending strength and healing in this difficult time.

My Condolences to the family,  I was at Vancouver Crematorium since 2014 to 2025 and had many occasions to meet with Serge. 

We shared each  our stories of our own trips to Mexico and I was able to talk in French with Serge.  Living in Vancouver I didn't get to speak much French, being from Montreal myself.

Sincere condolences to the Family and Friends. I’ve known Serge a very very long time and refereed him as a young hockey player as well as when he coached hockey in the VMHA. Super nice kid and an even better Man. Always respectful towards officials. He was also a great support when we lost our son in 2023 in helping coordinate all arrangements. We’ve lost a very good one! Thoughts and Prayers!

I worked with Serge – on and off – from 2014 to 2021, and learned a lot from him: how to be a better team-player, how to be an attentive listener, while learning to stand my ground if what I believed was right. While we may not have always seen the same side of the coin, Serge knew what he was talking about. he was knowledgeable in ALL facets of life and was always willing to listen, even remind me if I was about to make the wrong choice, which most of the time; he was also right about.. even if I didn't care to admit it at the time.
