María Guadalupe Solís Esquivel, 96, was peacefully called to heaven in her sleep on October 28, 2020. She was blessed to have her daughters and her Granddaughter Lluvia by her side.
She was the last surviving daughter of Guillermo Solís and María Esquivel, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son Juan and her daughter Elida, her grandson Heriberto, great-granddaughter Leyla and her great-great-grandson Anthony, Brothers, Desiderio, Gregorio, Tomas, Guillermo, Roberto and her beloved sister Melchora. She is survived by her son Roberto and her daughters Lydia, Hilda, Ludivina, Sandra, Thelma and Aida, 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
As everyone can see, Lupita, as she was well known, was the matriarch of a very large family and was a very strong and resilient woman but with a very charitable soul. Due to life circumstances, she was challenged to raise her 7 beautiful daughters alone with a lot of sweat and tears. Thus they are all strong independent women. For those closer to her they will remember her stern attitude, but she was always willing to lovingly care for her grandchildren. Everyone knew who her favorites were, but each had their own special place in her heart, as she always dedicated herself to helping her daughters when needed, by caring for her grandchildren. You can rest assured that she made sure all were very clean and well behaved while under her care, Oh! And don't let me forget to note something very important as all would be, including her daughters, compared to the famous Uncle Pablo Salinas!!
She lived most of her life at her home in Matamoros. A very beautiful house that was built with the sacrifice of many. She had a very beautiful Garden and some very enviable Rose Bushes which were her passion and she dedicated all her time and love to them just so she could sit in her rocking chair on her porch admiring their beauty and fragrance while listening to the old classics sung by singers such as Antonio Aguilar, Pedro Infante, Cuco Sanchez etc...
Now, our beautiful Lupita, rest in peace. Heaven awaits you with a beautiful Garden full of roses so that you can enjoy surrounded by all your loved ones who are awaiting your arrival.
