Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd. in Humble. Pastor Sammy Crosby will officiate. Burial will take place in Calvary Hill Cemetery following the funeral. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Chuck was born on February 8, 1941 in Spring, TX to parents Charles and Lola (Collins) Smith. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his brother, Vernon.
On November 22, 1960 Chuck married the love of his life Diane Beeson in Los Angeles, CA, she survives. Also surviving are their children; Kathy Peterson, Debbie (Michael) Gallagher and Eric (Becky) Smith. Their grandchildren; Patrick (Rachel) Gallagher, Jon (Lainee) Gallagher, Kasey (Basen Shebl) Gallagher, Taylor (Jon) Pierpoline, Taylor Rouse, Zachary Smith and five great grandchildren also survive.
At seventeen years old Chuck enlisted into the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1962. He became a Journeyman, Wireman, Shop Superintendent and a Master Electrician.
Chuck loved being outdoors, working with water, plants and wood. He enjoyed building and restoring cars. Most of all he treasured time with his family especially around the holidays.
